I was riding my scooter in the early morning traffic to nursing college saw a young man fallen off his bike and having fits in the middle of the road after an accident. I parked the scooter safely went across and took control of the situation. Traffic was stopped and the victim was safely moved to the side of the road. I protected his cervical spine and airway while arranging for an ambulance. He was taken to a nearby medical college. Later I learned that because of my interventions and “ISBAR” handover to the emergency physician the trauma team at the college could manage him straight away and he was discharged home after few days. My JeevaRaksha instructor training gave me the confidence to do something which I couldn’t have dreamt of a year ago. Thank you for making me a life saver “JeevaRakshak”.
Our college photographer identified electrocution at a marriage function, created a safe scene, disconnected electricity ,identified that the young victim was in cardiac arrest, started chest compressions and call for an ambulance with defibrillator.
He saved a 24year old man’s life, he had learned all these skills by just observing JeevaRaksha BCLS program at our SNMC Bagalkot. We are proud of JR and how it enabled our photographer to save a precious life.
I couldn’t believe that two interns managed to diagnose a heart attack in a PHC start the appropriate treatment and refer the patient to my centre for further intervention within the thrombolysis time window. There detailed and comprehensive telephonic handover was the icing round the cake, the JeevaRaksha c-ECLS program was responsible for this wonderful transformation amongst junior doctors from Father Muller’s Medical College
For 13 long seconds I was blanked out, who did not do anything and thought I was losing my choking child, then the knowledge and skills I learnt from my JeevaRaksha BCLS course came to me. I applied those skills within a minute my son expelled with coughing and started breathing. This is a program that every Indian should be trained in.
